There are some new photos of our Noble-litter.

Alice and Louise are developing really well. Since a few weeks a take them to all kinds of situations, take short walks and try to socialize them best possible.

Today it is also the birthday of our L-litter! One year ago Ludwig, Luise, Lieselotte and Leonore have been born. All four have very active owners and the first Hunting and Dummy Trial have been passed by the youngsters!

Our teams Svenja and Jule and Sebastian and Zelda have been to a Rally Obedience Trial in Sorö, Denmark. Both were very successful in their classes.

Jule "Deb's Cortina" was placed 2nd with 95 Points in Champion Class.

Zelda "Jolanthe vom Belauer See" was also placed 2nd in Övet Class with 94 Points and got her 3rd pint she needed towards her next title. Zelda is now Rally Övet Mester (DK).

Congratulations to both teams! You have done again a great job!

26.11.2017

This weekend we were again drawn to Denmark. As our ferry was departing really early we had to get up in the middle of the night at 03.00 a.m. Not really my cup of tea!

Under judge Bjarne Sörensen Zelda "Jolanthe vom Belauer See" got "excellent 1" with CK in Open Class. Svenja and Zelda were really happy about it!

I have shown Dorothy "Sandscape Golden Girl At Belauer See" in Yunior Class. She also got "excellent".

It has been a very well organized Show by a friendly team.

12.11.2017

The last few days have been really successful for our Kennel!

When I discussed with Svenja Arendt, if she should show our co-owned "Jolanthe vom Belauer See" at the World Dog Show, I said to her that she should not expect too much. I guess I have been a bit wrong.

Jolanthe, aka known as Zelda, was shown in Open Class. When we saw the entries we had not too much hope. 15 bitches were entered.

Well, sometimes life holds a nice surprise for you!

Under judge Bo Skalin, Sweden, Jolanthe was placed with "Excellent 4"!

We are very happy about this result!! Congratulations to the fabulous handler and the proud owner!

Only a few days earlier on November 5th I have shown our young Field Spaniel bitch "Sandscape Golden Girl At Belauer See", aka Dorothy, in Herning, Denmark at the Danish Winner Show.

It was the first Show of Dorothy. Under judge András Korozs, Hungary she got "excellent 1" with CK and received the titles "Danish Yunior Winner 2017" and "Danish Winner 2017". In the main ring she did a great job and represented the breed very well.

Mantrailing is a sport many Spaniels seem to fancy. They just love to search. Quite a number of Spaniels "vom Belauer See" are active Mantrailers. None of the dogs has so far searched a person in danger.

But who knows? Maybe this will be the case one day!

Svenja Hansen and Jeppe "Jakob vom Belauer See" passed October 21st  their third Trail-test "Orange A" successfully.

Congratulations to the team!

I am always very impressed when Svenja tells me about the trails they are working. Some of them are several days old and in urban areas! Great job!

Last weekend (21./22.10.2017) the Halloween Rally Obedience Trial  2017 took place in Fahrenkrug, Germany. Judge was Davina Schwochert, a young lady from Hamburg, Germany.

On Sunday Svenja Arendt with Jule "Deb's Cortina" were placed 3rd in Class 3, which is the highest RO Class here in Germany.

Zelda "Jolanthe vom Belauer See" did a fabulous Job in Class 1. They were also placed 3rd!

Saturday and Sunday Lotta "Desperados Charlotta At Belauer See" and I started  also in Class 1. I guess we have both days nothing to brag about! Saturday it has been mostly me who did a bad job. Sunday it was Lottas turn. It was raining cats and dogs and she simply didn't like it. At least we were both days not last and passed the test. Especially on Sunday many teams had difficulties because of the weather situation.

26.09.2017

"The winner takes it all!", well, Zelda and Jule have been again very successful this weekend at the Dummy Working Test in North Rhine Westfalia, held by the Jagdspaniel-Klub e.V.

The test was judged by Cordula Wojahn-Willaschek, deployed as Dummy Judge by the Board of the Jagdspaniel-Klub.

The teams started in Beginner, Novice and Open Class.

"Jolanthe vom Belauer See", Zelda and Sebastian Feilke won Novice with incredible 98/100 Points with "Excellent".

I heard that the judge was very surprised about the working ability of this dog out of "Show lines". Well, I think what is marked as "Show" is not only limited to the content "Show"! It is possible to breed Spaniels which are according to the Standard and are able to work... Isn't it also a lot nicer for the owner to work with a good dog which is "beautiful" and elegant, just nice to behold!?

Maybe it is interesting for Dummy enthusiasts and breeders who like to breed dogs which are "pretty and able to work" that we plan with this bitch a litter in Spring 2018.

Really the cake took this time "Deb's Cortina", Jule and Svenja Arendt. They won Open with 90/100 Points and "very good". With this result, Jule is one of the very few Spaniels passing the Open Class of a Dummy Working Test in Germany.

Big Congratulations to both teams!

The photos in the gallery are from Heinz Höfling. Many thanks!

Today was a very special day for Emelie and Charlie ("Kasimier vom Belauer See"). They both took part in their first contest ever!

At "Jump & Dog" first the horsemen do the parcours with their horses. After that the dogs run the same parcours with their masters. I suppose the bars are a little lower for the dogs. Young and old, thick and thin as well as tall and small ran the same parcours.

Emelie and Charlie ended up 9th out of 13 teams! Congratulations to both of you! You have done a really great job!

23.09.2017

While I was busy with household chores I thought, that it is really quiet in the house. Where is Dorothy! What is she doing? Usually our Field-Teenager is currently always up for some mischief.

Well, I could not find her in the house. The three Springers were sound asleep and Vicky had retrieved herself to the puppy room. So I had a look in the yard. And there she was: Having fun with the collar, Lotta has to wear after a small surgery. Dorothy had fun and Lotta seemed to be quite thankful.

A week ago at a Special Breed Show in Rosbach, Germany, two Springers "vom Belauer See" were shown under judge Theres Schmid, Switzerland.

In Open Class "Jolanthe vom Belauer See" got "excellent 2" and CAC-VDH-Res. "Luise vom Belauer See" who was on the day 9 months old had her Show debut. She was shown in Youth Class and got "very good 3". The critique left hardly any wishes open, especially when you take her age in this class into account.

A few days ago I received some up to date photos of Albert "Elgert Rumour Has It".

You will find more photos of him under N-litter. Together with Vicky, who turned 5 years old today, we are more or less patiently waiting on the birth of the puppies.

Yesterday I received a nice email from the owners of "Kasimier vom Belauer See", aka Charlie (Astrospring's Phoenix x Ilse vom Belauer See).

Ms. Lisa Hartmann, a photographer who is friends with the family, has taken a few nice shots of Charlie, which I am allowed to publish.

In a few weeks Charlies best friend Emelie will join with him a contest "jump and dog". We wish both lots of fun and success! We are looking forward to some nice photos!

Last Sunday a few Teams from Kennel "vom Belauer See" have proved their working ability.

At the Dummy Working Test of the Golden Retriever Club, Germany, in Renzow three Belauer See-Teams have been quite successful:

Deb's Cortina (Jule), Svenja Arendt, Advanced Class, "good", 4th/12 Teams

Jolanthe vom Belauer See (Zelda), Sebastian Feilke, Beginner Class, "excellent", 1st/20 Teams

Jakob vom Belauer See (Jeppe), Svenja Hansen, "good", 6th/20 Teams & "Judges Choice"

Congratulations! Well done!

As a breeder I think it is very important to breed dogs which are not only beautiful but are also able to work when you are breeding breeds belonging to the Gun Dog Group.

Today we showed again the working capability of our Spaniels at the Dummy Trial  in Tensfeld, Germany und judge Wolfgang Vergiels (German Retriever Club).

In Beginner "Jakob vom Belauer See" (Jeppe) with Svenja Hansen has been placed first (76/80 Points) and grade "excellent". Second place (out of seven teams) went to "Ilse vom Belauer See" with Ulf F. Baumann with the same Points and "excellent". Ilse was placed second as she is older than Jeppe.

In Novice "Jolanthe  vom Belauer See" (Zelda) with Sebastian Feilke was placed 3rd and "very good" out of five Teams.

Last but not least "Deb's Cortina" (Jule) and Svenja Arendt won Open with "good". Only two Teams had tried their luck in Open.

After a long day we have been all very happy and as breeder I am very pleased with the results.

27.08.2017

"Kuno vom Belauer See" (Astrospring's Phoenix x Ilse vom Belauer See) and his owner passed the test as certified Therapy Team Dog.

Congratulations and may you have always lots of joy doing this important work!

Kuno shows that English Springer Spaniels - and other Spaniel Breeds as well - can be trained for different purposes. It is important to identify the right dog for the task at hand. When Kuno's owner called for the first time, she told me, what type of work she intents to do with her future dog. We spoke about the character and qualities she was looking for. Then it was our task to identify the right puppy for her. Obviously it worked out pretty well.

We are looking forward to hearing more stories about Kuno and his work in future!

24.08.2017

Three dogs of our L-litter (Desperados Charlotta At Belauer See x Calvdale Night Court) are trained for hunting. Certainly the most appropriate task for an English Springer Spaniel.

The owners of Ludwig have sent me the Video (Copyright Oliver Marohn) of his first overnight-tracking. Many thanks!

21.08.2017:

We have again to report some news from "Belauer See" Spaniels being successful in dog sports:

Yesterday Svenja Hansen and "Jakob vom Belauer See" (Jeppe) got another "Excellent" at a Rally Obedience Trial in Class 1 with 91/100 Points under judge Angelika Just at GHV Bramfeld, Germany.

Already a week ago three "Belauer See" Teams were successful at a Dummy Working Test in Egestorf, Germany. The Working Test has been judged by the qualified judge Michael Walther (German Retriever Club).

"Deb's Cortina" (Jule), Svenja Arendt, Novice, 74 Points, passed, 2. Place

"Jolanthe vom Belauer See" (Zelda), Beginner, Sebastian Feilke, very good, 2. Place

"Jakob vom Belauer See" (Jeppe), Svenja Hansen, good, 3. Place

9 Teams had started in Beginner Class, but only four passed the test. Maybe the reason was that it was "raining cats and dogs...".

Congratulations to all the teams!

Last few days stories and photos reached me again of "Belauer See" dogs.

"Knut vom Belauer See" (Astrosprings Phoenix x Ilse vom Belauer See) is trained for his hunting test in September. He loves to retrieve and his owner is very happy with him and his work.

Now it is official:

Jule "Deb's Cortina" can add to her name another title "Dansk Rally Champion".

That shows again that Jule is not only a Beauty but also a good working Springer. Personally I think that both is equally important. Unfortunately there are not many dogs around who have both.

"No sweet without sweat!", I think this saying is especially right in the world of dog sports.

Svenja Arendt and her dog Jule "Deb's Cortina" and Sebastian Feilke with Zelda "Jolanthe vom Belauer See" certainly put a lot of sweat, diligence and time  into training their Springers.

This weekend Svenja and Sebastian went with their dogs to a Rally Obedience Trial to Denmark and certainly all sweat paid off and the rewards were lots of sweets! "Jolanthe vom Belauer See" is now Rally Begynder Mester and "Deb's Cortina" Dansk Rally Champion!

Both days several trials took place under Swedish and Danish reglement. Here the results:

We had an interesting trip to England! Vicky "Winterbourne Move On To Belauer See" has been mated by Albert "Elgert Rumour Has It". Now we hope for puppies end of September.

16.07.2017

Yesterday I have groomed Dorothy (SandsCape Golden Girl At Belauer See) and have taken off her puppy fur. Dorothy is now almost 7 months old and growing up nicely. Always up for some mischief but I guess that is the way it is with young dogs. And overall she is a really nice and calm, friendly young girl!

16.07.2017

On the weekend 15./16.07.2017 a Rally Obedience Trial took place at the Dog Sports Club Groß Grönau, Germany.

Both days judge was Angelika Just, Germany.

On Saturday the results were not that thrilling in terms of Points earned, but it seemed that the judging has been quite strict. All the Teams had not that many Points. The results of Team "vom Belauer See" in the order of the photo:

"Jolanthe vom Belauer See" (Zelda), Class1, 84/100 Points, 3. Place

"Deb's Cortina" (Jule), Class 3, 80/100 Points, 1. Place

"Jakob vom Belauer See" (Jeppe), Class 1, 88/100 Points, 2.Place.

A day later Svenja and Jule needed to stop their run. Svenja has not been very well and it didn't work as usual. That can happen. But the Teams Zelda and Jeppe reached the final goal:

"Jolanthe vom Belauer See" (Zelda), Class 1, 91/100 Points, 4. Place

"Jakob vom Belauer See" (Jeppe), Class 1, 78/100 Points

Already a week earlier Jule and Jeppe too place at the so called "Sprotten Cup" (Sprotten are little fish) at the Dog Sports Club Kiel under the judge Bianca Kaufmann. This day both reached again very respectable results!

"Jakob vom Belauer See" (Jeppe), Class 1, 100/100 Points, 1. Place

"Deb's Cortina" (Jule), Class 3, 94/100 Points, 2. Place.

Congratulations to the three teams! You are great!

05.07.2017

This year our annual Kennel Meeting here at Belauer See took place on July 1st.

About 50 dog people and there dogs mainly English Springer Spaniels - followed the invitation to the Belauer See.

After a few days of pouring rain the sky opened at noon and we had a lovely afternoon and evening.

To me as breeder it is very interesting to see the puppies again. Did they turn into the dog I hoped for?

Old friendships were renewed, new ones started. A few Facebook friends met for the first time in real life! Dogs and folks had a great time. We are looking forward to next years Kennel Meeting!

Zelda did better and got "excellent 1", CAC-VDH, CAC-Club and went finally "BOS"! Congratulations!

What a nice idea!!

Yesterday I received this photo collage from the owner of "Kuno vom Belauer See". She picked him up at our place a year ago. How time flies! Kuno has grown into a nice, young gentleman. Recently he has been measured and he has a height of 51 cm. That means his size is absolutely correct and in accordance with the standard. Kuno is trained as a therapy dog.

Dorothy (Sandscape Golden Girl At Belauer See) is now already since two weeks living with us. She has settled in and became friends especially with Vicky and Lotta.

Today we had our first Dummytraining. Although these were the first steps in laying some foundations, Dorothy enjoyed the training. We met also Yola (Lieselotte vom Belauer See) from our last English Springer litter. Yola had already some training at home and was very eager to work. Nice to watch the little ones.

After the work both girls enjoyed playing with each other. As they were born only 9 days apart, they are a good match.

But also our puppies made a very important step today! If you are interested to hear more about it, you can read the story and watch photos under M-litter.

14.04.2017

It has been a few weeks since my last writing here. There has been a very good reason for this!

I have been from March 28th until April 9th, 2017 on a trip to the US. I went to North Carolina to attend the Nationals of the Field Spaniel Society of America, of which I am a member.

Beside this there has been also another very good reason:

Dorothy starting to practise Dummy work in North Carolina, Photo: Ulf F. Baumann
Dorothy starting to practise Dummy work in North Carolina, Photo: Ulf F. Baumann

Only one week after the Nationals our new addition to the pack was ready to start her long journey to Europe.

That way I was able to combine the visit of the Nationals with picking up Dorothy, whose name in the pedigree is "SandsCape Golden Girl At Belauer See" at the breeders Corinne A. Dooley & Nichole Dooley-Bunch (Kennel SandsCape).

Those two weeks have been a great experience in every way. On the German Site of this Website I will give very soon a very detailed report.

I also would like to thank Nichole Dooley-Bunch for their great and exceptional hospitality! I have enjoyed my time with you very much!

During my absence the puppies of our M-litter have grown a lot.

When I came back home they had already started to play, bark, eat their own food and of course walking...which they still have to really learn. They are very cute with their four weeks.

If you would like to see more photos of them, you can have a look here.

Today Sebastian Feilke started with "Jolanthe vom Belauer See" aka Zelda at a Rally Obedience contest in Kolding, Denmark in "Begynder Class". "Deb's Cortina" aka Jule started with Svenja Arendt.

Well, and both were really successful:

Zelda gained 99/100 Points and was placed 2nd in her class!

Jule got 92/95 Points in "Ekspert Class" with Svenja Arendt. She was placed 4th under judge Pia Hansen-Schwartz from Denmark.

There is still a nice success to write about from the month of February: Jule "Deb's Cortina" and Svenja did it again!

On February 11th both went to a Rally Obedience Competition in Rosskilde/Denmark.

In "Övet-Class" they got for two runs 95 and 92 Points and were placed both times 4th.

With those results Jule is now "Rally Övet Mester" (RÖM).

Congratulations, Svenja and Jule!

27.02.2017

Already a week ago our puppies from L-litter have moved out.

Almost on a daily basis we get news, photos, short videos and stories about the first steps of the little ones in their new world. As a breeder it is very nice to hear from the puppies and their new families and not to loose touch!

Leni (Leonore vom Belauer See) made her first tour to the North Sea. She lives not far away from the North Sea and liked it very much.

Gimli (Ludwig vom Belauer See) moved to a big Country house and will be trained for hunting. There are two big black and tan brothers Jasper and Leo (two Gordon Setter). Gimli has still a lot of respect for them as they are fairly big.

Gimli enjoys already to retrieve. He loves to bring wings of game and started to explore his new territory. (Photos: O. Marohn).

Luise lives in Cologne and I wonder if she celebrated Mardi Gras!?

It seems that she enjoys to relax on the sofa. Certainly something she inherited from her mother Lotta.

Whoopie, the elderly Springer lady in the house holddie ältere Springerdame des Hauses, has already adopted Luise. Looks like they are already good bossom buddies.

Luise started with Dummy work and today I have seen a video showing Luise on her first small search!

Last but not least there are also news from our co-owned "Lieselotte vom Belauer See" aka Yola.

Also from her I have seen short videos, showing how she plays with young English Cocker lady Frieda. It looks like she has already learned how to twist her family around the finger...

Yola will start puppy class very soon and in April Dummytraining will start.

Congratulations, continue the good work!

Yesterday Sebastian Feilke and Zelda, "Jolanthe vom Belauer See", have been again very successful at the Rally Obedience Competition of HSV Fahrenkrug, Germany.

"Ms. Professor", Zeldas new nick name, started in Beginner Class under judge Mrs. Almut Antepohl from Hamburg.

With high concentration this young girl gained 100 Points! She was placed 2nd in the overall Placements. What a great success for Zelda and her owner and trainer!

Maybe the new outfit of the "Belauer See-Team" contributed to the success!? Well, I think the thesis "No sweet without sweat!" is what it is all about! Sebastian and Zelda are a very good and diligent team.

Also Svenja Arendt took part with Jule "Deb's Cortina" and her highly aged English Cocker "Holly von der Puvermacherei".

Holly started in Senior Class and today was her day! 97 Points gained her the first place! Well done! Holly is already 13 years old and still going strong.

Today it has not been Jules day. She got only 68 Points in Class 3. Next time she will do better!

Congratulations to the results of Zelda and Holly! We are proud of you guys!

Today the alarm clock rang very early at 1.00 am in Kiel as "German Youth Ch. (Klub) Jakob vom Belauer See" and his owner started their long journey down South. Goal was Gießen, a smaller city in the middle of Germany where a Special Breed Show for Spaniels took place.

Under the honorable judge Mrs. Rosemarie Wild, Switherland, Jeppe won Intermediate Class. He got "Excellent 1" and CAC VDH. Congratulations, well done!

As you will notice, Jeppe enjoyed the walk afterwards a lot more than the Show.

19.01.2017

Today we received mail from "Kuno vom Belauer See" and his owner from Bavaria. She wrote about the steps Kuno is taking in his training and  development as a professional therapy dog.

Beside his work as a therapy dog Kuno enjoys his life with the two family owned Cocker Spaniels. After work he relaxes with dog sports like Agility or hikes in the area with his owner. I think, Kuno has found a good job!

The photos show him playing with his friends, the Cocker Spaniels and during work in the practice. Well, maybe it is more an "office nap"...

11.01.2017 - 15.07.2017

I have taken a long trip to the East of Poland to get "Ilse vom Belauer See" mated. The journey was nice but there were a lot of hassles involved.

I had a chosen a very nice male. Unfortunately this male was very "gentle" and did not mate in the end. The second male which was my fall back has been not present, although the owner had promised me. What can you do?!

In the end I decided to travel from Poland to the Czech Republic. There my bitch was then mated by "Dowiti's Ice Age". I liked this male also very much. He has not only been shown very successfully but has also proofed that he is a good working dog at Field Trials. He is a true "dual purpose" dog.

In the German section of this Website I have told extensively about the journey. Please enjoy here the photos (Copyright Ulf F. Baumann).

You can read more about the litter which will hopefully be born middle of March at M-litter

We received New Years Greetings from Charly (Kasimier vom Belauer See) and his family.

Charly loves winter time. Emilie used her holidays to train him a bit more. She even built up a Rally Parcours in the yard.

I think Charly has been taught already a lot byEmilie. Both do a pretty good job!

Unfortunately dog sports is not very popular in the area where Charly and Emelie live. That is very sad as I think they both could have a bright future in dog sports. Already during the first visit it was noticable that Emelie has a great talent with dogs. We wish Emelie that she will continue to train him and has lots of fun with Charly!

The eyes of "Ilse vom Belauer See" and "Winterbourne Move On To Belauer See" have been checked. Everything is fine, they are clear.

Today our Wild Boar Hunter's Clark celebrates his 10th birthday!

Although we can feel that he is aging, he is usually still very active. Sometimes you can notice that it is more difficult for him to hop into the car. He also has a lot deeper sleep and when he climbs the stairs it is a lot slower than years ago.

We still hope to have him for many years to come in our small flock. Happy Birthday, Clarkyboy!

The Dummy was a Christmas present from friends, together with other Dummys. I think they are really great!

We wish all our puppybuyers and friends here and abroad a peaceful and happy New Year!
