Shortly before the puppies will move out this week we have taken a few more photos of the puppies and also our last photo of the litter on the garden bench.

Certainly not an easy task to be accomplished!

I hope you will enjoy the photos...

Today the puppies had again a number of visitors. Emelie and her family came to visit espcially Kasimier again. Today her Emelies little sister needed to stay at home. It is a long drive from their home to us.

Emelie brought me a very nice present. She draw an English Springer Spaniel for me.

And here some more photos of this lovely visit...

Today our friend Claudia came and we took photos of all the puppies and evaluated them. Claudia is a judge for Pointers and Setters and a very successful handler, therefore her opinion is also very much appreciated.

Together we discussed all the puppies, looked for positive attributes and of course also for the weaker points. It is always very interesting to see how the puppies develop and if we were right.

Following I will introduce the puppies to you in the order of their birth.

"Knut vom Belauer See"
"Knut vom Belauer See"

Our first born puppy is a male with clear tan markings. His name is "Knut vom Belauer See".

He will live not too far away from us. Knut is supposed to become a hunting dog. His future owner plans to present him at Field Trials and also at Shows.

Kuno vom Belauer See

Kuno was the second male which was born. He is the only one with no tan markings; he is liver/white.

Kuno will move to Bavaria and will be trained as a Therapy dog.

"Käthe vom Belauer See"
"Käthe vom Belauer See"

Our third puppy in the litter was a bitch. She is the only one in the litter. We named her Käthe.

Käthe will move to the West of Germany close to the Dutch border. Her owners want to show her and train her in Dummy work and Rally Obedience.

"Kasimier vom Belauer See"
"Kasimier vom Belauer See"

Kasimier was born as puppy number four. At birth he was not the smallest puppy but fell later a bit back in weight. He and his sister were for a long time the smallest in the litter. Although the difference in the puppies has not been that big!

This charming little fellow will live with a family. He is supposed to get first some training at a Dogs School. Later he will accompany his family doing all kinds of sport.

Last but not least I introduce our black beauty Karl. He was the latest and the smallest born. He did not stay very long the smallest puppy though!

Karl is black/white/tan and he will move to a family near Hamburg. He also will first get some basic training and his future owners plan then to do some Dogs sports with him. And maybe he will also be shown. As he lives close by I hope I will be able to push and assist a bit in this direction!

The long Easter Weekend has been really busy here at Kennel "vom Belauer See".

We had many puppy visitors. Some were visting as they will get a puppy from our current litter, others came to introduce themselves so that  they will have a chance to get a puppy from the next English Springer litter which is planned for autumn. But we had also visitors who are looking to get a puppy from the long expected Field litter. We and the dogs enjoyed our visitors. They all brought some nice presents!

As we were so busy there was hardly any time to take photos. Today the puppies got a tunnel for kids to play with. And here the first photos of this little adventure.

Next Sunday we will take photos of the puppies in the stand.

What is going on in the litter box?

Well, life is not only happening in the litter box. Meanwhile the puppies are using the space in front of their litter box as well. For playing and to do their "little business".

They are still getting their portion of milk from Ilse, but they have also started to eat minced meat, especially mixed for puppies. Both videos have been taken yesterday.

When the puppies are having their meals in their little bowls it looks like this...

The puppies are a bit more than 3 weeks old now. And since last week their living space has grown a bit. Of course the board at the entrance of the litter box is gone by now.

Last weekend the puppies had also their first official visitors. And they start recognizing each other and playing around a bit. It is too cute when they are loosing their balance and roll around...

The puppies are opening their eyes more and more.

Today I was sitting at my desk next to the litter box and suddenly heard a puppy getting really active and sniffing. When I turned around I saw the little girl.  She tried to chew on a piece of meat. Of course with no success!

Ilse had some slices of raw meat for "tea time" and had brought two small pieces into the litter box.

Today the puppies were all the time turning around when I tried to take some photos. This is the best I could do! But I think I was able to take a nice video clip of active puppies again. Enjoy!

"Hello world!" - today the first puppies are starting to slightly open their eyes. They are now two weeks old.

The photo series "sleeping beauties" was also taken today.

The puppies are also starting to get on their little legs and to run around the litter box. This is still in the early stages but it is incredible how fast they are!

I have also taken a video today. You can already imagine that they will try to leave the litter box in a few days.

Today I can again only report really good things from the litter box - good things in form of "grams".

All the puppies are gaining good weight. The black/white/tan male who was at birth the smallest is now some days the biggest puppy. He is almost daily competing about the pole position with the male born as number 1.

28.02.2016

At the moment there isn't a lot to report from the litter box. The puppies are growing and growing.

It won't take long until the little munchkins will open their eyes. Then they will start to get a lot more active.

Today I took some photos as well as the video. I hope you will enjoy the visit to our litter box.

24.04.2016

Today our puppies are already four days old. Their life seems to be only sleeping, drinking, sleeping and drinking. Of course it should be that way with small puppies. I couldn't say if they are right now more sleeping or more drinking. It feels like they are more drinking although I suppose it is vice versa.

All puppies have already gained a lot of weight since their birth. Today the biggest puppy had a weight of 655 g, the smallest one had "only" 546 g. I am very satisfied with their development so far.

Today I took some photos of each puppy. Following I will introduce them to you in the order of their birth. I also took today a short video sequence which I will show you after the photos (all photos and video: Ulf F. Baumann).

Puppy number one is a male. He was born at 20.22 and his birth weight was 422 g.

He is liver/White/tan and he has a small spot on the back of his neck.

Number 2 is also a male, born at 21.20.

He had at birth a weight of 431 g and was the biggest of the puppies. He is liver/white and has some markings on the right side of his neck.

It's a girl, it's a girl!

Number 3 was born at 22.25. She had a weight of 414 g and is liver/white.

As she is the only girl she has already her pedigree name "Käthe vom Belauer See".

Number 4 was a boy again. After his sister was born he tought, I also want to have a quick look, how it is outside!

He followed his sister only 23 minutes later at 22.48. He had 420 g and is liver/white/tan. He has a small spot on the left side of his neck.

Although I think, that a good dog has no color, I was quite thrilled when I saw, that number 5 was black.

Our last puppy of this litter, a male, was born at 23.53. With 400 g birth weight he was the smallest at birth. He is black/white/tan.

As I said "A good dog has no color!" I need to say that I really like when a Springer has a nice blaze. As it looks Ilse and Pronto have fulfilled this wish to me!

Have fun with todays short video!

20.02.2016

On the 60th day "Ilse vom Belauer See" gave birth to 5 puppies. There are 4 males (2 liver/white/tan, 1 liver/white, 1 black/white/tan).

They were born between 8.22 pm and 11.53 pm and had a birth weight between 400 and 431 g.

Ilse had done a brilliant job and takes good care of her puppies. Within the next few days we will take photos of each individual puppy and will present them. For now there is a gallery with few shots of the little ones.

We have already chosen their pedigree names. They boys will be named Karl v. B. S., Knut v. B. S., Kuno v. B. S. and Kasimier v. B. S. The girls name is Käthe v. B. S.

The last few days Ilses belly has grown quite a bit. I think that will be the last posting of a "pregnancy pic". Very soon we will know what is inside this big belly...we are looking forward to it.

14.02.2016

In about one and a half weeks Ilse will have puppies. But before that there are quite a number of preparations to be done.

Today we put up the litter box and Ilse tried it for the first time. Well, as you can see, she preferred a Lady - like position! She did not want to really show her belly and the growing "milk bar". I guess, you can kind of understand this...

Ilse got also a hair-do in preparation of the whelping. Now we will have to wait...

06.02.2016

A bit more than two weeks until the birth of the puppies. This photo has been taken today. I always think that the bitches look a bit more pregnant in reality than on photos. Ilses belly is growing and we are curious to see how many puppies she will have in the end! It is also interesting how many bitches and males there will be and the colors...

In due time we will know more! Right now Ilse is doing great. She is still coming with us and our pack on the walks in the forest...

21.01.2016

Four weeks have passed since our visit in Sweden. We can sense a difference in Ilse, in her behavior and also in physical changes. She is doing really well. Also the other dogs change in relating to her. Now Lotta and Vicky are playing together and Ilse is not participating any longer. So we are quite optimistic to have puppies end of February.

21.12.2015 - 24.12.2015

Our "Ilse vom Belauer See" started her season this time at a very unpleasant date. As she was supposed to be mated this time I started my shortly before Christmas my trip to Kennel "Astrospring's" of Ann Lundin in Sweden. The plan was to mate Ilse with "Astrospring's Phoenix", called Pronto.

Not every breeder will shout "Hurra!", when someone would like to come so close to Christmas to get his bitch mated. Especially when one of the "days" is Christmas Eve.

But not only Pronto welcomed us in Vessigebro, also Ann Lundin and her family have provided me and Ilse with a few nice days in Sweden. Every day I have been treated with swedish Christmas specialities. Very tasty!

Also Ilse seemed to be pleased with my choice! In the beginning she played a bit hard on charming Pronto! But after a while he won her heart and she was willing to be mated. Now  we will hope for puppies around February 23rd, 2016.

The parents of Pronto are also very successful English Springer Spaniel. His mother is NORD UCH und C.I.E. Art-Wave's Tempo Di Pace, father is SE VCH NO VCH SE U(U) CH Astrospring's Niim. Pronto has two half brothers (out of Art-Wave's Tempo Di Pace), which are both Swedish Show Champions, one who is also World Winner 2014. I know both half brothers personally and  they are also very friendly and nice Springers.

The breeder of Pronto, Ann Lundin, works with her dogs. She is successful in Rally Obedience as well as in "Tracking". Pronto is "Svensk Viltspor Champion" (SE VCH), which means he is a very successful tracking dog. In his pedigree there are several dogs which have this title or another "Tracking Champion title" from another country. That proves that the dogs aren't only good looking but also good and successful working dogs.

Pronto convinces also with a nice Exterieur. He has been very successful at shows in Sweden and in Germany. He has several CACs (also in Germany), CACIB and has been already BOB at Shows. He needs only one more CAC to get the title Swedish Show Champion after his second birthday on 14.01.2016.

Pronto has a well balanced and calm temperament. He is friendly and peaceful with other Dogs. I feel very lucky that Ann Lundin allowed me to use Pronto for Ilse.

You will find more information on Pronto, his parents and relatives on the website of Kennel Astrospring's.

Ilse is out of our German Youth Champion (VDH), German Youth Champion (Klub), Bundessieger 2013, German Champion (VDH) Desperados Charlotta At Belauer See after the Sire German Youth Champion (Klub), Austrian Youth Champion, Austrian Bundesjugendsieger 2012 Trebron Finow.

With Ilse I am training Dummy work. She learns easily and is a very eager and pleasing, young bitch. After her litter I plan to start with her also in Rally Obedience. After a successful Show carreer in Youth class Ilse maintained her success into adult class. This year she won already her class several times and gained four CACs out of five to fulfill the requirements for the German Champion title. After her litter I will continue to show her.

I hope for offspring out of the combination of Ilse and Pronto which will not only succeed in the Show ring but will also convince on the working side.

You will find more information about Ilse on her own side. Here also a few photos of Ilse, Photos Ulf F. Baumann und Nele Goetz:
