Since a few days the puppies have moved outside to the dog house and the big run.
They love to explore and playing fetch or fighting with each other. It is quite a pack!
Following a few shots from a couple days ago.
"What evil mischief could I do next?" seems the little girl to ask herself.
Well, it doesn't take long to find something!
Getting in a fight with the big brother, wow, that's fun!
A few days ago I took those photos and the video. The puppies were 3 1/2 weeks old.
Meanwhile they eat solid food.
I few days before they got her first meal and I gave them a mush for puppies. Well, you can still see on the photos the last remains of this feeding action. Honestly, I have never been really happy feeding puppy mush!
Today I am able to announce the pedigree names of the puppies. As a number of the Field puppies will be living in other countries around the world I have chosen English names:
The names of the boys are
- U R awesome
- U R charming
- U R gorgeous
- U R handsome
- U R marvelous
- U R swell
...and the girls
- U R beautiful
- U R flirtatious
- U R glamorous
- U R magical
Now you can take a guess, which of the girls will stay at the Belauer See!
Today the puppies got their first meat ball ever!
And I can tell, they enjoyed every bite!
Two days ago the breed warden was here to check the litter, if everything is okay.
The rules of the Breed Club in Germany say, that every litter has to be checked before the age of two weeks by the breed warden, if there are more than 8 puppies. There were no complains and we got an excellent report.
Now almost all our liver ones have opened their eyes and are getting more active.
Our big Field litter is now 6 days old.
For no apparent reason we lost one boy today. He was not alive in the morning. Quite sad, but it happens...
The remaining 10 are very much alive. Alice is doing a brilliant job. She is a great mother. Very calm and caring.
Already on Sunday, August 16th my beautiful "Noble Alice vom Belauer See" gave birth.
It seems that she didn't want to stop giving birth to new puppies. I had expected a big litter, but I never thought, there will be 11 puppies.
We have 7 boys and 4 girls, all liver. I am very proud of my Alice!
Despite the Corona-Crisis and the perspective of being locked two weeks into quarantine I made my way to Sweden on June 15th with two of my bitches.
Alice has been mated June 16th and 17th by "Periwinkle's Slippery Jack", aka Jack.
Jack is a half brother of my "Prince Arthur vom Belauer See At Nadavin", who lives in Great Britain and is very successful there. Jack is in co-ownership with his breeder Helena Borell, Kennel "Periwinkle". Jack and my Prince Arthur (McGregor) share the same father. As this line was obviously a good match to this bitch line, I think Jack can be a good match for Alice. I had also met the mother of Jack a few years ago and liked her a lot.
The litter is expected around August 18th 2020.
